Michael Jordan is co-owner of a Florida-based dining establishment that could soon expand.

The Chicago Bulls legend and billionaire is listed as one of the founding members of 1000 NORTH, a Jupiter, FL-based waterfront private club and fine-dining restaurant that offers a panoramic view of landmarks Jupiter Inlet and Jupiter Lighthouse, Miami New Times reports. The venture is the brainchild of real estate developer Ira Fenton and Tucker Frederickson, a former athlete who played in the NFL.

The location offers several separate dining experiences for guests including The Tavern, which offers modern American regional cuisine. The full-service dining room, 1000 North, also offers steaks and fresh seafood.

“We wanted to give guests something they can’t find in our area – an experience many people travel to Miami or New York to get,” Fenton said on the company’s website. “We’re bringing that to Jupiter, and topping it off with a beautiful waterfront view of the Jupiter Lighthouse. Those coming to 1000 NORTH can even arrive by boat if they prefer. Our 350-foot dock will be open to guests.”

Potential Expansion?

Soon, 1000 NORTH could be expanding to its second location. Your Observer reports that this new location received partial sign-off from the city’s Development Review Committee on Dec. 17 after being first announced about a year ago. The area would be in the BLVD Sarasota building at the intersection of Boulevard of the Arts and North Tamiami Trail.

The new location will span several floors. The first will be used for a fine-dining restaurant seating 179 at capacity. The mezzanine level will feature a private dining room, wine lockers, a lounge area, and an additional 70-seat wine-tasting lounge, the outlet mentioned.

Unlike the other location, which invited the public with optional membership, this location would be members-only. Members will also be able to access a private limousine service, private jet service, yachts, and more perks.

“This is really high-end stuff,” project consultant Joel Freedman said, according to the outlet. “No, I am not going to become a member, and they didn’t offer me (a membership) in lieu of my fee.”

The goal is to have as many as 200 members, though pricing of membership was not provided.
